The Little Train of the Olivianne
Le circuit autour du bassin
Good morning,
I am the Little Train of Olivianne and I am going to tell you my story.
Previously, I was called the Little Train of Anniviers and I ran on a magnificent network that took me across the Niget stream on a large viaduct, through tunnels and galleries, and to stations to pick up passengers or deliver goods. What joy in the eyes of the children and even the adults who came to visit me!

Then, I had to leave my Swiss mountains to come and settle in the Dordogne with my landlord. It took him six years to build the network and then in six hours, everything was dismantled and I found myself locked in boxes with the promise that a new railway network would be rebuilt for me in Sarlat.
So, I waited patiently!
Before creating a new circuit, Olivier had to build my depot and his workshop. It took a little while, but I'm very happy with the result. All the machines, wagons, scenery, railway books, miniature locomotives and so on have found their place in this magnificent room.

And, everything happens. The first exterior work has begun.
First, a tunnel carved out of cellular concrete so that I can get in and out of my depot.

The first few meters of track were laid on a concrete floor. Between each section of rail, Olivier performs a weld to ensure better contact for data transmission.
I am delighted toI hope to soon send one of my locomotives to explore my new environment.

And, when the rain prevents working outside, Olivier builds my set.
Today it is the signal box which will allow the installation of the relays intended to control the traffic lights.
The facades were molded from polystyrene and the railing was made with pieces of copper wire twisted and welded together.
The roof is still missing; it will be built using self-hardening red clay.

The bend that will lead me into the embankment is under construction. To build the curves, Olivier made several templates corresponding to the radii of the rails to be laid.

Work has resumed and I am discovering the outline of the circuit that will allow me to travel all around the house.
You want to know the rest of my story....
So, I suggest you find me on my Facebook page: Le petit train de l'Olivianne
